Over the years, trash cans have multiplied, adorning themselves with bright colors.

We devote a lots of time and space for what we wish to get rid of, to hide, to forget.

What we throw away speaks about us and our society in the same way as what we keep.

Wastes inspires both attraction and repulsion. It's “stripped” from it's social status:

- a waste is "Any object that its holder intends to abandon" according to the definition of the Official Journal of 16 July 1975.

These abandoned objects inspire tenderness to Arty Chevauchery who chose, from the first confinement of 2021, to “elevate” them: collected, reworked, adorned with bright colors and pure pigments, ennobled, rehabilitated.

Arty Chevauchery wishes to establish a dialogue between the artworks and inhabitants, inviting them to look at the objects they throw away with a different perspective.

The next step of that series is to create artistic structures using this process, fixed but also mobile urban sculptures who would challenge and participate in a collective ecological awareness while bearing witness to the cities and their inhabitants.
